Frequently asked questions
Clear answers to the most common questions before you come to the practice.
Before you come
Do I need a medical referral?
No referral is needed to book. If after assessing you tests or a doctor's opinion are needed, I will tell you.
What is the first visit like?
We talk about your case, I examine you and, if it makes sense, I do an ultrasound to see the state of the tissue. You leave with a clear plan: what you have, what we will do and how long it may take.
What should I bring or wear?
Comfortable clothes that let me see and move the affected area (for example, shorts for a knee). If you have previous tests or reports (MRI, ultrasound, blood tests), bring them.
How long does a visit last?
Usually about an hour, though it can vary depending on the reason for the visit and the tests needed.
Where is the practice and how do I get there?
At Plaça del Doctor Robert 5, 08221 Terrassa, inside the Mútua (Mútua Terrassa building), in the COTCAT unit. You can open the route from the “How to get here” button on the home page.
Treatments and techniques
Will the treatment hurt?
It depends on the technique. Manual therapy is usually comfortable; with a needle you may feel brief discomfort. I always explain what you will feel before starting and we adapt it to you.
What is ultrasound and does it hurt?
It is a test that uses sound waves to show tendons, muscles, ligaments and nerves on screen. It does not hurt and uses no radiation.
What is the difference between EPI, dry needling and neuromodulation?
All three use a fine needle but with different aims: EPI applies a current to encourage tissue repair, dry needling targets painful muscle points and neuromodulation stimulates the nerve to modulate pain. At the assessment we decide which makes sense for you.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the problem, how long you have had it and how you respond. After the first visit I give you an approximate estimate and we review it as we go.
Can I keep exercising during treatment?
In most cases yes, adjusting the load. I tell you what you can do, what to reduce and how to progress until you are fully back.
Booking, prices and questions
How much does it cost?
The standard visit and osteopathy cost €60, and EPI with ultrasound €65. You can see everything on the prices page.
How do I book?
You can book online with the “Book a visit” button, message me on WhatsApp at 617 593 526 or call me. If no time suits you, tell me and I will find a slot.
Do you see patients in other languages?
Yes: I see patients in Catalan, Spanish and English.
Do you work with athletes?
Yes. I work with competitive athletes and with people who exercise for fun, and also with patients who do no sport.
When to see a doctor
Are there symptoms that should not wait?
Yes. See a doctor or go to A&E if you have severe pain after a blow or fall, fever with pain, sudden loss of strength, progressive numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control or chest pain. If in doubt, call or message me and I will guide you.
